The reason you may think it will throttle is that thermal throttling and ssd speed issues have been exaggerated by tech YouTubers which are deliberately trying to cause arguments on social media sites. It's a big investment to make so in my opinion I want to be as sure as possible, so if that means trying the different models I'm interested in to find the best one suited for me, then so be it. I was on the phone with apple only 5 minutes, and all I have to do is tape a label to the box it came in and drop it off at ups. It really is not that much effort to return a laptop. If your credit card has the space, why not order them both and make a hella-more informed decision based on your own personal experience. My point here is that, sometimes the best way to know which products are the absolute best fit for you, is to take full advantage of their return process and try the laptop yourself, no strings attached. I'm going to be ordering the 16" MB Pro and probably downgrading my M2 Air (currently at 16gb ram/512gb ssd) to the base model. Now, I have an additional 14 days to ship it back. Yesterday was day 14 of 15 in which it is still eligible to be returned, so I called apple yesterday morning and started the return process. You might not like this answer but I'm kind of in the same boat.
